..."getting legs," I'm hearing some pretty interesting things from some of the other candidates!
First, isn't it nice to hear the Dems imploding once again? Obama criticizing Clinton for playing the race card, Clinton criticizing Obama for NOT playing the race card, both of them taking pot-shots at the other for WHATEVER. As Artie Johnson used to say, "v-v-e-e-e-e-r-r-r-r-r-y-y-y interesting!"
Seriously, does anyone really believe that any card put forth by the Dems has a chance? If all they get is the "disgusted with the Pubs" vote, they'll get 25% tops! Of course, we all know how that works; the states that ALWAYS vote Dem will continue to vote that way (Mass., New York; the "solid south," etc.), but the bulk of the nation will vote Republican as usual and then it will come down to a count of the Electoral College, which is an antiquated agency that needs some serious re-consideration, BTW.
Of the Republicans running, I'm liking what Romney has to say moreso than most of the other candidates. Oh, we could go into a lengthy debate about religion here, but I don't see Romney mixing religion with politics, so why would any potential nay-sayers do so? Romney says a lot of the same things I've been saying. Run government like a business. If an agency has come to a place where there's no "value added," do away with it. People who are sitting at $80,000/yr jobs doing their knitting should be let go! Make agencies justify every penny they spend! Stop talking "billions" and start talking "thousands" the way the people footing the bills do! Install term limits for every elected official. Make government "lean" so that we can spend money where it needs to be spent constitutionally. Do away with "earmarks." He's been saying may ny of these things, and I like what I'm hearing!
Is that my official endorsement of Romney? Not yet...but stay tuned. I may come out for him eventually as the political season wears on! - Dan
